    The Emergency Services can use an Exemption to the standard 'Drone Laws' in certain circumstances. We teach you what you can do, when you can do it, and what you need to do to stay legal.

  • Is this course availble to the public?

    No; it is offered free to authorised Emergency Service Providers and those operating within official 'Blue Light' Drone Teams. This is a free course for the emergency services (Police, Fire and Ambulance) and is delivered with our General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC) course. It is available only at the discretion of the UAVHub Training Team.

  • Is there a formal examination?

    There is no formal examination as part of the course, but there are quizzes at the end of each module to ensure that you have clearly understood the content.

  • Do I get a certificate?

    Yes, you will get a Certificate of completion at the end of the course

  • How was this course developed?

    This course has been developed between UAVHUB and the ex-head of the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Services UAS Department to assist with the education of Emergency Service UAS teams.

  • How is the course taught?

    The course is taught primarily through Video E-learning, supplemented with some reading materials.

  • Is there any practical or in person training?

    No, this course is purely E-learning and there is no practical training for the Emergency Services. If you would like to organise Emergency Services Practical Training for your team, email [email protected] and we'll be happy to assist.

  • Why is this course free?

    We have made this course free for the Emergency Services to provide the most cost-effective route for your teams to know best practices when operating drones as part of the Emergency Services.

  • Is this course available to Blue Light Card Holders?

    No. This course has been created at cost to UAVHub and there are costs associated with the maintenance and delivery of it. It includes training and practises that aren't available to people operating drones outside of an official government/NGO approved capacity. Access to the course is offered by UAVHub entirely at the company's discretion.
